As discussed in today's telephone call, ACRS will advise you of your readiness for assessment upon receipt of the application form and supporting documentation, at no charge, or obligation by you to continue to formal application for ACRS certification. This informal review by ACRS is preliminary only, and is not the complete review of the full documentation submitted which forms part of the actual assessment for certification. Confirmation of your readiness to proceed to assessment is not a statement by ACRS of the conformity, or otherwise, of your materials supplied to AS/NZS 4671 and does not imply any endorsement by ACRS of PSCO, or its materials. Once ACRS has received a formal application including the completed application form and all the necessary supporting documentation, the period of the assessment process to final decision on certification for that firm is usually between two and four months, but may take longer if any??significant nonconformities are discovered. Three months is normally easily achievable by manufacturers with prior experience of manufacture to AS/NZS Standards. Please note that the certification process includes the mandatory assessment conducted on-site by an ACRS assessor at the actual mill itself. The number and type of test samples to be taken at the assessment will be arranged with the mill by the ACRS assessor I will appoint after receipt of your formal application. The samples will be sent directly to one of several independent laboratories appointed by us.
