The LWG label represents a brand or retailer engaged in our programme, helping to support leather manufacturers on their journey to environmental excellence. The LWG Claims Framework has been developed to give clear guidance on how to make claims about LWG and ensure your labelling is compliant with our requirements. This framework is available for members of LWG and can be accessed via the member login.
The LWG logo can only be used by businesses supporting our work
Businesses that are members of Leather Working Group can communicate about our work and their commitment to our goals on their products containing leather sourced from LWG certified leather manufacturers and operations.
The LWG Claims Framework helps brands and retailers understand how to make claims related to LWG and use our name and logo on their product labelling correctly, ensuring all claims language is accurate, appropriate, and not misleading.
It is not mandatory to make public claims about LWG, but those that wish to do so must comply with the criteria outlined in the LWG Claims Framework.LWG monitors all claims relating to the group, our members and certified suppliers to protect the credibility of our name and the integrity of our auditing programme, as well as building trust with consumers.
